Position Overview
Tractor Technician will be running diagnostic tests, repairing semi-tractor vehicles, and performing preventative maintenance. The individual at this position will be eager to provide the best truck service and willing to communicate with company drivers, and other Mechanics within the shop to achieve overall success of the repair process. This position is a first shift (630 am through 300 pm), Monday through Friday opportunity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Diagnose issues in semi-trucks and tractor-trailers
- Perform preventative maintenance on tractors
- Perform Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Preventative maintenance, including replacing coils and filters
- Perform Tractor preventative maintenance, including changing out filters, testing fire alarms and fire extinguishers
- Test equipment and systems for performance
- Perform repairs to brakes and electrical systems
- Perform brake system repairs, suspension maintenance and structural damage repairs performing routine maintenance and regulatory compliance
- Perform disk & drum air brake repairs
- Replace parts as needed
- Document repairs
Skills and Requirements:

Position Overview
UC Group is actively seeking experienced and driven Owner Operators who are looking to maximize their earnings and gain more control over their schedule. If you’re committed to delivering great service and ready to be treated as a true partner, not just a number, this opportunity is designed for you.
We offer consistent freight, competitive pay, and the freedom to choose the lanes that work best for your lifestyle. Whether you're home weekly or running OTR, you'll work closely with a Division Leader to establish your revenue goals and build a plan to meet them.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Owner Operator with UC Group, you’ll:
- Run under our authority and dispatch
- Choose your own lanes and home time preferences
- Collaborate with your Division Leader to set personalized weekly revenue targets
- Maintain your equipment to pass a UC Group DOT inspection
- Partner with bilingual dispatchers (English, Spanish, Russian, Lithuanian) for seamless communication

Benefits
- Pay: 75% of gross revenue
- Weekly Gross Potential: $5,600 to $7,200+ depending on home time, location, and flexibility
- Fuel Discount: $.15 CPG fuel discount
- Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 (paid out over 5 months)
- DOT Inspections: Two FREE inspections per year; if failed, labor is billed at $90 for approx. 45 minutes
- Equipment Requirements: No max age on trucks, but all equipment must pass UC Group’s internal DOT inspection
- Home Time: Flexible—home weekly positions available with no set requirements
- Plates and Fees: IRP Plate: $2,200 (prorated based on start month, payable over 4 weeks) 2290 Tax: $650 (prorated based on start month, collected upfront)
